I recently read this article on Huffington Post about this awesome 1981 Lego Ad.
This little girl is holding a LEGO set and she's not wearing pink. She's also not holding a build your own castle LEGO set. The caption on the image says for "younger children" who "build for fun." A L L K I D S.
I personally grew up playing with LEGO and believe that every type of toy should be available for all children. They offer different challenges and skill-set that may not be in their usual assumed gender specific toys.
A great reminder that we're all allowed to be who we are, and not all girls are girly pink girls, and not all boys are boyish tom boys. It's OK for there to be pink, blue, orange, red and black no matter what gender or age you are.
