This week's obsession: Muku
About Muku: Muku was born in Lithuania about four years ago, when two designers—Mindaugas and Dovile—had their child Agota. Unsatisfied with the children's clothes found in stores, the new parents made attire for their infant daughter and over time, realized that others might want something similar for their children as well. The muted tones, loose fits for unrestricted movement, carefully placed buttons and natural fiber materials have become a distinct MUKU trademark, and encourage the wearer to focus less on what they're wearing and more on what they're doing.
Why do we love them? We love the concept of focusing less on what you're wearing and more on what you're doing. Let's face it - it's harder and harder these days to stay physically connected and be in the present with the technology around us and the constant to-do list piling up. We also love that they work with Linen - a very difficult material as it constantly changes and react differently in a variety of elements: in the sun, wind, rain and even dirt.
